15 years in PRISON for running RC5?
In '99, David McOwen, a sysadmin for the Georgia School system, installed the RC5 client on multiple computers during the course of his work. The RC5 client is part of a contest sponsored by RSA, the developers and owners of the code. It sits quietly in the background, interferes with nothing, and is as harmless as a screensaver. Georgia considers this a crime...I think Georgia needs a reality check...

The Life and Times Of The Gundam, Pt. 1
Cartoon Network has gone Gundam crazy. No, I said "Gundam," NOT "Goddam". This week they began running the original 1979 Japanese anime series, "Mobile Suit Gundam" at 5 in the afternoon and "08th MS Team Gundam" at midnight. Sort of the gourmet franchise of giant fighting robot cartoons. Here's part 1 of an article summarizing the production's history. Inconveniently, I must also provide the links to part 2 and 3. Why can't these people just put it all on one page?!?

Gallery of the Unidentifiable
*The Gallery of the Unidentifiable* is an independently operated wing of the Museum of Depressionist Art. Museum of Depressionist Art
*The Museum of Depressionist Art* specializes in the art of the Depressionist school, which most other museums reject as being too miserable, dejected and hopeless to warrant space on a wall. Depressionism, according to the landmark Johnson & Jansen "Big Book o' Art Stuff," is not limited to a single place or time. Instead it reflects the low point of an otherwise highly regarded artist's career: http://www.dearauntnettie.com/museum

Li'l Abner
Here's a link that was lost when Linkalog Version 1 died. "Li'l Abner" comic strips from the days when newspaper comics weren't run through a blandness filter. That's right: these are vintage strips, updated every day. The current storyline is from 1949. Artist Al Capp unfortunately became quite a reactionary in the 1960s, but he certainly did a lot of wild work over the years. You would never see this stuff in a current newspaper comic. You'd never get away with it.
