Primal guitar god, Link Wray, passed away last week at age 76. Details are sketchy so far, with the main source being an obituary from Denmark, where he has lived in later years. It's been picked up in Spain and Brazil, but the US media remains ignorant. A shaky English translation from France is the best that we can do at the moment. Man, if you play guitar, next time you pick it up, play those "Rumble" chords for Link (D to E, D to A, D to E, D to B, then a ripsaw Em line across the board). And if you don't play, put on a Link disc, record or empee3 and turn it way up.
Update - Nov. 21: News is now leaking through into the US press. Also, Link's own site has posted the word from Link's family. His death was November 5th, not last week. WraysShack3Tracks has also updated with additional information.
