Ornamental Wigwam was a duo side project by Joe Jack Talcum and Dave Blood of the Dead Milkmen. Though, in the usual organic Talcum way, it's possible that OW may have developed at much the same time as the DM -- I'm not really sure about that. Anyway, I think they were occasionally active from the mid-80s to early-90s -- I remember hearing a great homemade cassette around 1984. Joe has just posted an album's worth of tunes taken from a 1988 live set on Band Wagon -- a TV program on University of Pennsylvania's cable channel. Swell and charming stuff -- surreal folk-rock, sort of. If you like Syd Barrett or Daniel Johnston, you might like this as well. It's really rather poignant now to hear Dave chatting between the songs. Joe also provides some additional information and photos of the Wigwam. Thanks, Joe. Great tunes.
