Mr. Airplane Man
Like an old fart looking for unknown offspring, I find a present-day guitar 'n' drums duo. Taking their name from a Howlin' Wolf song, Mr. Airplane Man roll out a gritty garage-punk-blues hybrid. I wish they were a bit wilder, but they've got a nice combination going. Actually more informative than their own site (which does have a small selection of music downloads -- I like the rough-edged Red Lite tracks best), are a couple of interviews with guitarist Margaret Garrett and drummer Tara McManus. I like Margaret's attitude, and it sounds like a great way to record an album (totally live with total leakage). Keep at it, kids.
