The Girl's Guitar Club of Greater Los Angeles is a charming no-fi music/comedy act formed by actresses Mary Lynn Rajskub and Karen Kilgariff (Larry Sanders Show, Mr. Show, etc). Move over, Tenacious D. The website includes photos, lyrics, mp3s, a fun short film, the usual stuff and some unusual stuff. I love their photo instruction section on guitar chords. Though on their helpful hints page, I must warn you: Do NOT follow their recommendation of soaking your hands in warm water before playing guitar -- it will soften up your fingertips and the strings will tear them apart. You want to play with dry, clean fingers. If you need a warm-up, use a heating pad, or perhaps have a hot-blooded friend hold your hands for a while.
