Amazing Pranks of Our Forefathers

The 1930 DeMoulin Bros. & Co. Fraternal Supply Catalog No. 439 features "Burlesque and Side Degree Specialties, Paraphernalia and Costumes." Or to put it more succinctly -- amazing prank devices for use by fraternal lodges. Oh, for the days when rather than devising new ways to resell us the same old passive entertainment, companies dreamed up better fake goats with which to victimize our friends.

Cool link. Glad to see you're back doing a weblog!! It still has some kinks (the type overlaps into the right column), but otherwise looks great.

Thanks. Yes, you seem to be experiencing the IE5.x on MAC bug. It's documented here:

http://developer.apple.com/internet/css/ie5cssbugs.html

in the "Bugs related to position: relative" section. They helpfully say, "Workaround: None."

Other known browser problems:

Netscape 4.x on any platform is a mess, but that was expected. It may still be functional, depending on how your browser layers the jumbled-up boxes. Or, you can turn off style sheets and javascript -- this will deliver an unformatted, ugly but readable page.

IE5.x on PC mis-sizes the center column by a few pixels. An annoyance, but no loss of function or readability. IE 6.x on PC renders correctly.

Netscape 7.x, Mozilla 1.x or Opera 6.x should all be fine on any platform.
