FORMS THAT FUNCTION

Kustom Garage 3

Top Fuel Dragster built and raced by "Big Daddy" Don Garlits in the early '60s. The first dragster to break into the 7 second range or to hit 200 mph (one of those, I forget which). Check the drivers-eye view to the left and note that you actually drive with your legs hanging over the rear axle -- and no doubt praying that shiny differential there doesn't explode into your tender parts! Or the engine in your face. Brutal.

Dean Van Lines Special - an early '60s Champ Car raced at Indy and other tracks by Eddie Sachs. Powered by an extremely evil sounding Offy engine.

The Summers Brothers' Goldenrod set the land speed record for wheel driven vehicles in 1965. Powered by four Chrysler Hemi V8's, the Goldenrod thundered its way to 409.227 mph, setting a record unbeaten for decades.
